About Me
I've lived all my life in
Columbus, Ohio and the surrounding suburbs.
Not much to brag about, but I do like it here. We actually have four
seasons, though if you blink you might miss spring and fall. Fall being
my favorite season, this is somewhat disappointing, but when you've
lived here as long as I have (more than 40 years), you get used to it.
It actually makes you appreciate it that much more when those brief 4
or so weeks in October finally arrive.
I'm a graphic designer by trade, employed full-time as such for a local consulting firm as well as freelancing. I've been an artist and writer for as long as I can remember. In the good old days, I used to paint and sketch portraits for people with canvases, acrylics, oils and charcoal. It's been quite a while since I've worked in any of those mediums. My art is now confined to the computer age. Photoshop and Illustrator are my best friends and when I have to do layout for a book or magazine publication, I turn to either Pagemaker, Quark or InDesign (depending on the client). I miss the old days of traditional paste-up and dark rooms and slicks and, most of all, the feel of a paintbrush in my hand.
