Picked up as a stray by a high-kill pound, Nuno is the happiest dog in the world.

Female (spayed) Australian Shepherd / Springer Spaniel mix
Birthdate: July 25, 1997
Adopted: September 15, 1997
Went to the Rainbow Bridge at 11-1/2 years old. Chance was a breast cancer survivor, having had a masectomy 5 years ago. It never stopped her, though. She was strong, spunky, and a fighter. Unbeknownst to any of us, the cancer returned. Though she never showed signs of it coming back until the very day before she left us, on March 30, 2009, cancer won. It was incredibly hard to let her go. She was our first dog, and the dog my son grew up with from the time he was 5 years old. Though we'll have more dogs, no other dog can ever fill her place. Her presence will always be felt in our house.
